How it works

1

When you arrive, our check-in volunteers will register you and your item. There may be a short wait, giving you time to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and chat with others. You can also watch repairs in progress. When it’s your turn, a volunteer repairer will guide you through the process, explaining each step so you can learn and assist.

2

The repairer may suggest a part is needed to complete the repair. If so, you’ll receive the exact part details, allowing you to purchase it online or in a store and return to a future Repair Café event with your item and the new part.

3

If your item cannot be repaired, we will explain why and provide guidance on the safest and most effective way to dispose of it.

* Although repairs are free of charge, any voluntary contributions are greatly appreciated and go towards equipment, materials, and refreshments.
